The Lear UFO Framework Before Lazar

John Lear was already a committed UFO researcher with developed theories about government-alien interaction before Bob Lazar approached him. John Lear was present on the Wednesday night test flight observation trips that Lazar organized near the Groom Lake area. He witnessed -- along with Gene Huff and others -- the aerial phenomena that Lazar said were test flights of the S-4 craft. Lear's independent account of what he observed on those nights is consistent with Lazar's description: something was in the sky that did not behave like conventional aircraft.

The relationship between Lear and Lazar became complicated when it emerged that Lazar's then-wife had been having an affair with Lear. This personal dimension adds complexity to the witness relationships in the case.
