Comments on an UFO book
Title : The UFO Abductors
Author : Brad Steiger
ISBN : 0-425-11165-2
-------------------------------------------------------------
While there are many UFO or similar type books on the subject,
I found the book "The UFO Abductors", expanding on the recent
knowledge gained from abductees a real "humdinger".
Let's clear the air and say that "I don't approve or
disapprove of the book's contents". However, I find it
grasping evidence with weak support or explanation(s). Even
though the book's subject lending itself to that type of
structure, since concrete evidence is hard to come-by. I find
the book interleaving the paranormal with extraterrestrial
visitations something hard to swallow. Also that Earth is the
stage for a future battle between good and evil or something
along those lines where "MAN" is pitted against those that wish
to do harm. There just seems to be a weak connection from the
subject of abduction to Armageddon. While the book makes for
impressive reading, it doesn't concentrate solely on its'
subject matter.
There are loose connections, but important ones as Mr.
Steiger explains thoughout the book. The author also lends
his experience with extraterrestrial contact that there are
such encounters(Chapter 7, pg.145). While the "startling proof"
I wanted to read about just doesn't seem to be there in an
impecable context. The book is good reading for an open mind,
but not for an inquistive one seeking answers. It would
appear that the author is capitializing on the recent
abduction knowledge that is the "HOT" thing to have written
about. While the whole topic of UFO's is debated, this book
doesn't weaken or lessen the evidence for UFO's, it just
doesn't add to it, which is the big disappointment.
