Devils Den UFO Incident — Key Persons Directory
[edit | edit source]Terry Lovelace, Esq.
[edit | edit source]Primary witness; author. Born approximately 1954. USAF active duty 1973–1979; medic/EMT at Whiteman Air Force Base. Post-military: undergraduate degree in psychology; Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University; private practice attorney; Assistant Attorney General for the United States Territory of American Samoa; retired as Assistant Attorney General from the State of Vermont in 2012. Currently resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife of 44+ years. Published Incident at Devil's Den (2018) and Devil's Den: The Reckoning (2020). Has spoken at Yale University, the Ozark Mountain UFO Conference, and multiple other venues. Was visited by Luis Elizondo in June 2019. The implant remains in his thigh as of his most recent public statements.
"Toby"
[edit | edit source]Second witness; full name not publicly disclosed. From Flint, Michigan. USAF medic; Whiteman AFB; worked night shifts alongside Lovelace. Amateur astronomer; married with two young children at time of incident. Suggested Devil's Den for dark skies. Post-incident: suffered severe insomnia, alcoholism, and psychological collapse; life was permanently derailed. Marriage ended. Was prevented from communicating with Lovelace by AFOSI order enforced with court-martial threat. His post-incident decline is documented through interviews with his ex-wife Tammy in The Reckoning (2020).
Tammy (Toby's ex-wife)
[edit | edit source]The primary source for the detailed account of Toby's post-incident decline in The Reckoning. Agreed to be interviewed by Lovelace for the second book. Her testimony about Toby's insomnia, alcoholism, and psychological collapse provides the most direct external corroboration of the incident's lasting impact on the second witness — corroboration that comes from someone outside Lovelace's direct perspective.
Agent Gregory
[edit | edit source]AFOSI agent who conducted the primary interrogation of Lovelace following the Devil's Den incident. Described by Lovelace as employing coercive tactics and veiled threats; issuing the no-contact order with court-martial threat; confiscating evidence from Lovelace's home and car; conducting the hypnosis session; and maintaining ongoing surveillance of Lovelace. His conduct throughout suggests prior experience with similar reports. His full identity has not been publicly disclosed; "Agent Gregory" is the name used in Lovelace's account.
Luis Elizondo
[edit | edit source]Former U.S. Army Counterintelligence Special Agent; former Director of AATIP (Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program — the Pentagon's secret UAP investigation); later joined To The Stars Academy (TTSA) as Director of Government Programs. Co-produced and hosted the History Channel series "Unidentified: Inside America's UFO Investigation." Traveled to Dallas, Texas, in June 2019 to personally interview Lovelace. His visit represented the intersection of the Devil's Den historical case with the modern institutional UAP disclosure movement.
