Operation Paperclip:
Operation Paperclip was a program to recruit former Nazi scientists. Some of these scientists studied torture and brainwashing, and several had just been identified and prosecuted as war criminals during the Nuremberg Trials.

Operation Paperclip brought over 1,600 Nazi scientists, engineers, and technicians to the U.S. to work in military, industrial, and academic fields for the Cold War, most notably Wernher von Braun, the V-2 rocket designer who later led NASA's Saturn V program.

Wernher Von Braun:
Dr Wernher Von Braun was a Nazi rocket scientist in the secret spacecraft development plant at Peenemünde during World War II , then through Operation Paperclip recruited as a high-level NASA aeronautical engineer during the 1960’s and early 70’s.
