!. The Gulf Breeze Six were six US military intelligence analysts who
deserted their posts in Augsburg, Germany July 9, 1990. They had used a
Ouija board on seven occasions for several months. After using the Ouija
Board and viewing the material they were analyzing, they apparently came
to the conclusion that the battle of Armageddon was about to occur.
2. They left their posts in Augsburg, Germany believing they were on an
important mission to apparently save the world. They went to Gulf Breeze,
Florida where they met a psychic named Anna Foster who had just prior to
their contact attended a MUFON convention held in Pensacola which had been
devoted to the Gulf Breeze SIGHTINGS According to James Moseley of Key
West, a "ufologist" "this woman may have been the source of the soldiers'
interest in the conspiracy - oriented material disseminated by Bill
Cooper."
3. A few days after the arrest of the six deserters in Gulf Breeze,
Florida, a teletype message was received in Gulf Breeze news offices
which stated:
"US ARMY
FREE THE GULF BREEZE SIX.
WE HAVE THE MISSING FILES, THE
BOX OF 500+ PHOTOS AND
THE PLANS YOU WANT BACK.
The message - which went on with a threat to release unspecified UFO
photographs - ended with -
ANSWER CODE AUGSBB3CM"
4. These deserters were given honorable discharges and sent home within
days after the teletype message was received.
5. Information from paragraphs 1, 2, 3 and 4 above comes from the book
"Revelations" by Jacques Vallee, pages 188 through 192.
6. Then, in february 1993, on a SIGHTINGS show, two of these soldiers
appeared and claimed that their group of six had come up with the
following five predictions fpr 1993:
a. There would be a gas leak and explosion in New York City in 1993.
b. The Royal families of Europe would collapse in 1993.
c. The United States of Europe would be formed in 1993.
d. There would be an earthquake in California of magnitude at least 8.3
on the Richter scale.
e. There would be an earthquake in Seattle and Mt. Rainier will erupt.
7. Also, on the SIGHTINGS show, they said that IF all of these
predictions took place, then the six have agreed to go into hiding for six
years because these events will trigger a six year state of devastation
around the world.
8. My opinion for what it's worth: These six are not kooks (or weren't
when they entered military service). They had TOP SECRET security
clearances and had very intensive background investigations,
psychologically, morally and intellectually. I GUESS that they were
arrested, a deal was made for the return of material AND their silence
about UFO's and in return, they would get honorable discharges. On the
show SIGHTINGS, not one word was mentioned about UFO's in conjuncion with
their story.
9. How could their silence be enforced? I GUESS they were placed on
Inactive Reserve subject to recall to active duty and imprisonment in a
federal prison IF they don't keep their part of the bargain.

I remember the desertion, but did not recognize the significance of
their destination at the time. How long after the multiple sightings
in Gulf Breeze before the Gulf Breeze Six desertion?

What did you think of Vallee's analysis? I find much of it quite
refreshing! He has a slightly cynical humor that is much lacking in
the
UFO field in the USA.
I have been trying to find his book on UFO sightings in the USSR but
though it is listed in 3 or 4 libraries here all the copies are out.
Funny thing is...the same is true for "The Mothman Prophecies" by
John
Keel? It almost makes me wonder how close to home does the
conspiracy
to encourage the ET hypothesis cut? ;-)

Our library system allows us to punch a button on a computer and
have the
book sent directly to our home through the US mail. I have
discovered
that these UFO books are far more widely read than one would expect
with
such a dearth of reports in the news. For instance,
"Secret Life" was checked out 13 times in the past 10 months,
"The UFO Guidebook" 12 times in the past 24 months
"World's Greatest UFO Mysteries", 16 times in the past 10 months,
etc.
Our local branch of the library has computer terminals which show
how many
copies of each book exist, what branch they are in, and whether
they are
presenlty checked out. I notice that most UFO books are doing a
thriving
business, at least at the library.
It sounds like you need to put a hold or request in to get them. I
just
have to type a P and my library card number, confirm my name and
address
and it gets mailed to me the next time it's checked in.
Vallee's analysis is intriguing to me. I smell another book in the
offing
and almost crave it. I was almost disinterested in his book
"Confrontations", but read it as "required" reading, however from
page 13
on in "Revelations" I was engrossed.
The story of "Ummo" is still being told as fact in some quarters in
spite
of all of the info in Chapter four of "Revelations". Although some
of the
photographs appear to have been faked, there was a flight of a UFO
for
demo purposes supposedly witnessed by over 40 people.
The presently interesting point of this is that part of the Ummo
logo was
a thumbprint on their correspondence. The Carp tape from
"Guardian" in
Canada also had a thumbprint on it.
Who knows?

I would be very intrested in learning much more regarding this

I am reading a book entitled "OUTTHERE" by Howard Blum and Scannate
is
referenced in it. This was the first time that I had heard/read
about it and I
found it to be both interesting and unsettlling. What do you know
about this?

According to the book I'm reading, it was called RV Remote Viewing,
and
demonstrated to governmental officials in 1985. Apparently there is
mmore to
the story than I am aware of. Anyway the viewer was able to see
UFO's hovering
over submarines.

with Ed Dames of PSI-TECH inc. who CLAIMS to have Remote Viewing

pat. (Putoff & Targ, Ingo Swann, etc) He says that this skill can be
taught to anyone, and that he has a group of ex-MI types with
appropriate
clearances and analytical skills who are doing things like locating
Saddam's hidden weapons stores.
Dames BTW moved his company to New Mexico, because a lot of his
internal
company-sponsored RV work concerns UFO activity. He says (like a
lot of
people seem to be saying) that something BIG will happen in April
or May.
Howard Blum mentions in his reviews of Project SCANATE in "Out
There" that
many times the presence of UFO's was felt, but that the RV session
was
prematurely terminated, presumably by the UFO's! Dames also
mentioned
that RV targeted at UFO's has been less fruitful than against
terrestrial
(sp?) targets.
I can only speculate, but I imagine that exposure to anything like
this in
a structured environment like the military would be a very
schizophrenic
experience. IF RV is acknowledged in military/govt. circles it
would be a
very unnerving thing to walk into a lecture on "national means of
verification" and have someone talk about a guy sitting in a room
concentrating on the wall, writing notes about Backfire bomber
dispositions, etc. Note that I said ACKNOWLEDGE not make use of.
I'm
certain that if such an ability exists in any way, and I have
personal
experience to suggest that it does, that it might manifest itself
(or be
interpreted by the viewer and those around him/her) as 'hunches',
'feelings', etc. IF dowsing rods made from welding rod were good
enough
for the Marines to find tunnels with, hunches about which trail to
take,
or locations of bunkers, etc wouldn't be too hard to accept either.
(Good
survival skill for fellow on POINT to have!)
I have more thoughts on this subject that I could upload to UFOria
(1-703-803-6420) in the Washington DC area, since it is straying
off topic
to some degree. I am not well versed in FIDOnet parlance, and
don't know
about private NETMAIL, FREQ'ing, etc. SO if you can suggest a
better way
to communicate files and such, let me know.

if that does not make it, here is some more excerpted from some
doc's I'm
putting together:
A Short History of REMOTE VIEWING
For those of you who are not familiar with Remote Viewing, it
consists of the ability to determine facts about objects,
situations, and events external to the 'viewer's' physical
location. The simplest cases involve perception of known
objects and surroundings, or the contents of known addresses,
much as an observer on site would see; for example, seeing a
drawing in another room, or seeing a street scene in a city
located across the ocean.
More complex cases involve perception of facts or impressions
not available to an on the spot observer, such as 'sight' in a
pitch-black environment, or locating ore deposits underground.
There are also cases of remote viewing where the viewer is
asked to locate a known person or object at an unknown
location. Lastly there are cases of 'associative' or 'symbolic'
remote viewing involving almost a double-blind kind of
perception, where a third party assigns significant events,
conditions or objects to purely symbolic tokens, and the remote
viewer indicates which of these tokens is of particular
interest, indirectly indicating the desired event.
Naturally the exact mechanism for this ability is much under
dispute. Seeing what another human being can see, ie. seeing a
crowded street scene, could merely be telepathy. Seeing a
scene where no other people are present, or plucking facts out
of the ether is more difficult to pin down. Many different
kinds of para-psychological activity can be classified as
Remote Viewing, depending on your interpretation: 'Finding'
lost objects, locating people, 'reading' personal belongings,
accessing the Akoshic Record (for the Astral Travel folks out
there); all of these refer to gaining knowledge in a
para-normal fashion.
Two researchers named Putoff & Targ, of the Stanford Research
Institute, first worked with Remote Viewing back in the mid
seventies. One of their more interesting findings was that
almost all people appear to have this ability to one degree or
another.
Later experiments were allegedly done under the auspices of the
CIA and/or Office of Naval Intelligence as part of Project
SCANATE. These experiments, with their obvious Intelligence
gathering ramifications, have been frequently reported but
never offically confirmed by the U.S. government.

The truly weird part is in a conversation with Mr. Dames about
PSI-TECH,
he Implied that RV was not limited to spacial displacement, but in
some
cases had a predictive component as well!! (Some kind of
interpretation
involving the Holographic Universe paradigm MIGHT support this, but

makes my head hurt to think about it!)
