Agee was an operations officer (spy handler) for the
CIA from 1960-1972.
Burrows, William E.
Deep Black: Space espionage and national security
Random House, New York, 1986
Burrows holds two degrees in international politics
from Columbia University and is at present a professor
of journalism and director of the science and
environmental reporting program at New York
University.
Cockburn, Leslie
Out of control: the story of the Reagan Administration's
secret war in Nicaragua, the illegal arms pipeline and the
Contra Drug connection.
Atlantic Monthly Press, New York, 1987
Cockburn was educated at Yale and the University
of London. Since 1978 she has worked for CBS News
on such broadcasts as 60 Minutes and West 57th.
Her work has won numerous awards, including the
DuPont Award, the Emmy Award and the Sidney
Hillma Award.

Powers, Thomas
The man who kept the secrets: Richard Helms and the CIA

Powers was on the staff of United Press International
when he won a Pulitzer Prize for his reporting on the
case of the young Weatherman terrorist Diana Oughton.

Prados, John
Presidents' secret wars: CIA and Pentagon covert operations since World War II.
Morrow, New York, 1986
Prados received his Ph.D from Columbia University. He
is the author of The Soviet Estimate: US intelligence
and Russian military strength. He also wrote The sky
would fall.
Turner, Stansfield
Secrecy and Democracy: The CIA in transition
Houghton Mifflin, Boston, 1985
Turner graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1946.
He received a Master's degree in philosophy, politics
and economics from Oxford University in 1950. Before
becoming Director of Central Intelligence in 1977,
he was Commander of NATO's Southern Flank.

West, Nigel

West is an British writer specializing in matters
relating to intelligence activities.
Wise, David
The invisible government
Random House, New York, 1964
Wise, a graduate of Columbia College served as White
House correspondent for the Herald Tribune during the
Kennedy Administration and chief of the Washington
Bureau from 1963-1966.
